world4you.com relaunch
Initial situation

Our externally hosted and managed world4you subscription shop and the corporate branding of our company had long since passed their peak.

The technological basis, user experience and search engine optimisation no longer met current standards.

The introduction of new products and ongoing maintenance were proving to be extremely inefficient. There was also a lack of opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling as well as a personalised customer approach.

Another critical point was that payments were only possible after the product had been set up, which led to costly debt collection cases.

Project goals
  • Development of new target groups
  • Improved user experience & sales growth
  • Visibility & search engine optimisation
  • Improved time-to-market & efficiency
Team E-Commerce
  • Five software engineers
  • One SEO/UX writer and two UX designers
  • One Scrum Master and one Product Owner
Mission statement

We create the leading hosting subscription shop in Austria. Through first-class user experience, advanced automation and pioneering search engine optimisation, we are setting new standards in the industry.

Our goal is not only to fulfil our customers' expectations, but to exceed them and fully exploit our growth potential.

With passion and innovation, we are shaping the future of world4you and strive to delight and inspire our customers every day.

Agile methodology
Iterative
We developed functional increments in two-week sprints and continuously improved them based on feedback and user tests.
All stakeholders were regularly involved in the reviews at the end of each sprint.
T-Shaped
The e-commerce team implemented solutions across departments and disciplines.
By gaining a deeper understanding of a wide range of disciplines, we were able to develop innovative automation solutions, for example.
Protected
My main task in the project was to protect the team from distractions and overload.
This included prioritising day-to-day business, involving stakeholders and representing decisions.
Results

Right on schedule, my outstanding team successfully implemented a completely redesigned online sales platform, developed in-house due to the complexity of the product, in just nine months.

Thanks to our agile and iterative approach, the launch went smoothly and without any major errors or problems.

Pagespeed

We have managed to develop a very fast web shop. In an industry comparison in Austria, it was the fastest loading hosting shop solution at the time of launch.

Only the purchased cookie banner clouded the picture somewhat.

Visibility

Despite the completely new URL structure, we succeeded in significantly increasing the visibility of world4you in the Google index - by 83% in a year-on-year comparison.

The decisive measures were effective redirect management, a well thought-out SEO and content strategy and optimised page speed as an example of technical considerations.

Conversion Rate

With an increase in the conversion rate of 14.6%, the relaunch of the world4you web shop has made a significant contribution to the company's growth.

The most important measures were a greatly improved user experience and the consideration of accessibility as a design principle.

Time-to-Market

By connecting our existing backend via APIs and introducing a consistent design system, we achieved a significant increase in velocity and freed up capacity for innovation and optimisation.

Simple price changes, for example, no longer require any front-end effort.

Cart value

Through consistent cross- & up-selling and the option of product configuration, we have succeeded in increasing the average shopping basket value by 14.2%.

This makes an important contribution to sustainable sales growth at world4you.
